Katie Proctor today became just the third female since 1979 to take out the Launceston Running Club Country Club Ten Feature Race on the undulating hills of Hillwood. Katie hung tough after giving her all and suffering a severe stitch to hold out Nathan Jackson for second in an improved performance after a long lay off from competitive running, followed by Paul Loader in third. The race was run in warm conditions and with great spirit shown by all competitors. The fastest male was Dylan Evans at a km rate of 3:17 while the fastest female was Amy Lamprecht in a rate of 4:09 per km, which is a great effort coming off a marathon and ultra marathon in consecutive weeks!
Bailey Hume ran a fantastic race to win Div 2 from Hope Darsaklis second and Ella Boxhall third and fastest female with 4.09 per km. Fastest male was Tom Murchison 3.34 per km. Div 3 first across the line was Joseph Rogers Jr, Chlow White in second place and an excited Milo Porter in third. Fastest female was Chloe White 4.41 per km and fastest male was Thomas O’Byrne with 4.41 per km.

It was also Div 2 and 3 2014 trophy presentations as well. Div 2 club champions are Ella Boxhall and Tom Murchison and Div 3 Chloe White and Thomas O’Byrne. Congratulations to all award recipients in the junior divisions who play an integral part in the clubs success.

The division one presentation dinner will be held on the 25th October at the Country Club from 6:30pm with live music, buffet meal, runners quiz and other light entertainment. Contact Heather 6344 8403 or Katie on 0438 304 680 to book your place.
