Kate Clark produced a consistent pace to claim her first LRC win today in the Riverside Aquatic 5 km race, run in perfect (but somewhat warm for running) conditions. Kate’s time of 33:29 was enough to hold  out Joseph Rogers Snr who has finished second two weeks in a row. Joe’s time of 25:33 was a quicker rate than last week so if he can keep on improving a win may not be far away. In third place was Robyn Beattie in a time of 33:10.  The fastest times recorded today were produced by Johnno Claridge in 17:18 and Austin O’Byrne not far off the pace in 17:30.

In Division 2  Eliza Anderson raced home to cross the line first with Bailey Hume and Gabby Darsaklis in second and third place. Stephen Talbot, who stopped to get a stone out of his shoe was fastest male at 4:04 per km and Ella Boxhall, a personal best km rate of 3:58. Division 3 saw a close finish with Joe Rogers Jr first and Harry Darsaklis 2 seconds behind for second place and Reiss Hinds in third. Fastest male was Luke McHugh with 3:47 per km and Chloe White 4:05 per km the fastest female. Well done to all the juniors!

Next weeks race is the Kurt & Doris Geier 6 km at Low Head and includes a BBQ and maybe a dip in the Strait if the weather is as good as it was today. See you there.
