Justin

Overcast and breezy conditions provided the back drop for the Salon Nolas 5.7 km Hcp at St Leonards picnic ground today in which 43 runners slugged out the slightly longer than planned race. Justin Cooper enjoyed the extra 700 metres to hold out Shaun O’Reagan in second place (again…. some sort of record may be set at this rate!) and Jen Quinn in third. Fastest times were Katherine Whitmore in 23:19 and Austin O’Byrne in 20:52.

As mentioned at the presentation, we were a little light on for helpers at the finish line which resulted in the tags not being handed out at the finish line. If you are a member and not running due to injury or other or have a family member available we would love to have you at the race to offer a small part to ensure our race is conducted with the minimum of fuss. Many people make light work!

Ivy

In the Division 2 race, Ivy O’Byrne raced flawlessly to win the 2.3 km event from Eliza Anderson in second and Stephen Talbot in third. Fastest male was Kurt Gay at 3:31 per km while the fastest female was Ella Boxhall at 4:01 per km. In the Division 3 1.5 km event Sisi Tai broke the tape first in holding out the two Thomas’ in Thomas Cooper and Thomas O’Byrne in second and third respectively. fastest times were recorded by Thomas O’Byrne at 4:26 per km and Averyl Quinn at 4:32 per km. We apologise to Elijah Daley for not having a result in the sheet yet, but will continue to work on the technical hitch that is preventing the result from coming up.

We have a week off for the Launny Ten and then back up the following week for the Van Dieman Brewery 9.75 km Hcp. See you there and remember if you’re not running we would still love to have you at the race to provide a helping hand.
