After more seconds than a minute, Shaun O’Regan finally broke through for the win in the Van Dieman Brewery 9.75km Hcp over the undulating but scenic course. Shaun who has been battling a very uncomfortable injury in recent weeks prevailed to hold out Tracy McHugh in second and fast finishing Johnno Claridge in third. Chilly but good running conditions saw 44 runners take to the course with Chester James-Smith recording the fastest time in 36:00 minutes flat, and Amy Lamprecht the fastest female in 40:32. Rob Tatchell was on hand as sponsor to reward and award the first three place getters with a mixed four pack of the best hand crafted brew in Tassie! We can only see future event prizes getting bigger as Tatch’s generosity continues to blossom. The soup and savaloys proved a treat with hungry runners and club supporters able to wash it down with a brew of choice. Thanks to all our helpers with the soup and Savs…. Yvette, Allison, Heather, Ivy, Bella, Hope, and Gabby.

In the junior divisions, Ryan Holloway ran strongly up the hill to finish first ahead of Jj Tai in second and Corey Stanley in third. Corey was also the fastest runner at 3:43 per km….a great effort on a tough course while the fastest female was Isabella Darsaklis in a rate of 5:03 per km.

The early starters in division 3 kicked off the icicles with Luke McHugh having his first win for the year followed by Thomas O’Byrne and Alicia Hollingworth in third. Luke also recorded the fastest race time with 4:11 per km and Averyl Quinn the fastest female at a rate of 4:44.

Next week we head to Westbury for the 12km event hosted by the family of Wes Jones.
