The Bishopsbourne Farmer’s 8km Hcp was won today by Damon Whish-Wilson. Damon had not run with the club for some time and proved he had developed in the past couple of years to win from club veteran Shaun O’Reagan in second and ever popular Justin Cooper in third. a fine day greeted the runners with a slight breeze making conditions a little challenging at times. Fastest runners were Charles Gunn in 29:00 even time and the evergreen Debbie Pauna in 33:45.
The post race presentations were again sensational with our race sponsors providing a traditional Hāngi with roast meats, vegetables and salads. A special Thanks to Keith and Fokie for their hospitality. Also thanks to the club members who bought a plate to make the feast complete!
In Division 2 Gabby Darsaklis held out her sister Hope with Ella Boxhall making up the podium in third. Fastest runners were Corey Stanley at 3:31 per km and Ella Boxhall running at 4:16 per km. In a field of 18 runners in Division 3, Alex Zegveld crossed the line first 12 seconds ahead of Harry Darsaklis followed by Chloe White a further 8 seconds behind for third. fastest runners were Chloe White at 4:37 per km and Luke McHugh at 4:12 per km.
Next weeks race is at Blackstone Park for the Cycle 2 10km Hcp over an undulating course …… a perfect lead up to the Gutbuster coming up over the next month or so. Keep up the Training, enjoy your running!
