The Wes Jones memorial race was run on Westbury today in the most amazing weather. The division two and three kids ran as it snowed on them while the division 1 race just 40 minutes later was run in sunny (but chilly) conditions. To mark this significant race in the LRC calendar a number of the late Wes Jones’ family also raced today.
Felicity Cooper took out her second win of the 2016 season when she crossed the line first in todays 8km race. Second place was taken by and third by . The fastest male was and the fastest female was .
The division two race was won by Eliza Anderson, while Ryan Holloway came in second and Hope Darsaklis third. The fastest male was Ryan Holloway and the fastest female was Hope Darsaklis.
The division three race was won by Avril Quinn, while Georgia Harmey came in second and Seth Hill third. The fastest male was Luke McHugh and the fastest female was Avril Quinn.
All the kids in division two and three deserve a big congratulations for competing in the interesting and somewhat trying conditions! Snow may not be the optimal environment for running.
