The Paint Plus fancy dress fun run raised over $750 on Saturday for the Give Me Five For Kids charity. Anyone who happened upon the interesting array of “dressed up” runner at the Trevallyn Reserve’s Hoo Hoo Hut may have received a bit of a shock to see various characters including a priest, a nun, a sumo wrestler, one of the wiggles, a witch, a policeman, a pirate, a sailor, Homer Simpson, a bumble bee, a ballerina, various princesses and superheros all running up the road. A number of mountain bikers were caught with looks of astonishment on their faces – lucky to stay on their bikes!
The day was a massive success with everyone having fun (the adults more than the kids I suspect!) – the event was not timed, we have no real idea of how far any of the events were and no places were awarded. Instead all the participants received a prize from our very generous race sponsor, Paint Plus! The run was about having fun and raising funds for a worthwhile charity!
Who actually crossed the line first??? Great question! There is a rumour it was a three way dead heat – as you can see by the photo evidence above, it does appear that it was a three way dead heat! The only problem we have now is identifying who the three runners are – all we have to go on is: the red wiggle, a sumo wrestler and a pirate! Their actual identities may always remain a mystery…
Thank you to everyone who was involved for helping the club raise even more money for this worth while charity than last year – now start thinking about your 2017 costumes AND we’d like you all to bring one person along to join in the fun 🙂
Next week is Launceston 10 and then its back to normal programming on the 18th June – the Pasta Merchant 6.2k at Carr Villa!
