The Hamyes Paint Fancy dress Charity run was a great success, raising approx. $750 for St Giles! Thank you to the 60 runners who participated and were so generous! Also a massive thanks to Phil Gregory (a club member and the race sponsor) & his team, for providing & cooking dumplings for everyone after the race and donating all the proceedings to St Giles.. They were a BIG hit!
We did not officially time these races however the three “winners” were:
- Long Course (actually only about 4k!) – Strawb also known as Minnie Mouse
- Short Course (not quite 2k!) – Samual Lindsay also known as a Cat Burglar
- Juniors (maybe 1.3k!) – Phoebe Mills also known as flower girl
* These were the people who didn’t let their costumes hold them back! LOLHere’s just some of the best costumes prizes which were awarded (prizes also supplied by Haymes Paint):
- Best Costume – Katie Proctor as Audrey Hepburn
- Best group – The Weirenga’s as a 60s/70s family
- Best double – Felicity and Justin Cooper as Men In Black
- Best in character – Phil Gregory as “Lets Get Physical”
- Miss LRC 2019 – Doris Geier as Miss LRC 2019
- etc
Thats just a few of the awards – everyone deserved an award. All the costumes were amazing, well done to all especially for helping to raise some much money for our local charity – St Giles! We can’t wait to see what you come up with in 2020!
Check out the Facebook Photo Album to see (and laugh) at some of the costumes 🙂
Next week we’re out of town to lovely Hillwood for the slightly undulating 10k’s of the Low Head Tourist Park Hillwood 10k! We meet at the Football Ground.
See you there 🙂
