An awesome 98 runners turned out to the first LRC event of 2019 at Heritage Forest today! Our fantastic sponsor this week was Mike at the Launceston Running Company – make sure you pop in and say thanks – and maybe buy a pair of shoes etc. 😉
The main event which we now call the “Long Course” was a 6.35k out and back at Heritage Forest. Club secretary and long time member Anne Davies broke through for a win today From Fiona DeWit and Tracy McHugh, making it an all girls podium finish!
The fastest male was Matthew Zegveld in 22:18 and the fastest female was Kathryn Mills in 29:34.
Today was our first running of the new short course – making the old division 2 open to all ages. In todays 2.5k short course 26 runner of all ages competed with club mum Maxine Lindsay taking the win. Amy Lewis came in second while Daniel DeWit took out third place.
The fastest male in the short course was Benjamin Frost in 9:37 and the fastest female was Mia Goody in 11:10.
Todays 1.5k junior race (old division 3) was won by new club runner, Zane Dean from Flynn Rogers and Hunter Dean. The fastest male in this race was new club runner Hunter Dean in 6:16 and the fastest female was Annabelle Pike in 6:27.
