Race 10 of the 2023 season – the Cafe Karma, Meander Valley Vets Cycling 8k was held in, yet again in fine conditions, maybe just a little windy at Westbury and has been run and won.
The 8k long course was won by Annie Loader with the home course advantage. Daniel Staak raced in to second. Robert Tatchell racing home for third place and on the very rear occasion could not talk when crossing the line. The fastest today was very close yet again for both male and female. The fastest male was Matt Zegveld in a time of 28.08 and female Sarah Menzie in a time.of 34.08.
In the 2.5k short course Aurora Deboer was the first across the line with Peyton Webb taking second. Neil Hammersley ran into third and first senior. The fastest junior male was Harry Jackson in a time of 8.21 and the fastest junior female was Aurora Deboer in a time of 9.41.
In the 1.5k Junior Zaria Bramich was the first across the line from Evie Bailey in second and Lucy Webb in third. The fastest male was Freddy Barnewell in a time of 7.25 and the fastest female was Olive Howard in a time of 6.41.

Next week we have a new course at the beautiful Greens Beach – we meet at the shop, play ground. This is using the road sealed and gravel, not the trail. It is the feature race but the Sweep/Calcutta will still be on the last race of the season.
