Race 2 of the 2024 season, the Rob Rick Dale Deer Farm 8k, unfolded under sunny skies in picturesque Evandale. With a bustling crowd and enthusiastic runners, the event was fabulous. A big shout-out to everyone who joined – your energy makes these events what they are!
The long course 8k saw Chris Marsh lead the pack, finishing first with a strong run. Close on his heels were Sarah Menzie and Shane Bishop, who secured the second and third spots respectively. Shane Bishop was the fastest male in a time of 28:26 and Sarah Menzie was the fastest female today clocking in at 35:26.
On the 2.5k short course, Flynn Rogers sprinted to victory. Taliah Bramich and Morgan Howell rounded out the top three. The fastest male was Charlie Reece i a time of 9:17 , while Phoebe Mills emerged as the fastest female, finishing strong in 11:54.
The junior course was won by Sienna Bramich, with Chloe Marsh and Darcy Staak taking the second and third places. The fastest male was Darcy Stark in a time of 11:22 and the fastest female was Chloe Marsh in a time of 7 mins.
Looking ahead, don’t miss out on the next challenge – the Van Diemen Brewery 9.75k at White Hills. Mark your calendars! Additionally, a special reminder for our next event: we’ll be serving warm soup and saveloys. Please bring cash or a card and a mug for your soup to enjoy a hearty treat post-race.
