I was going to bag today’s winner out, but then I remembered it was the handicapper so I just want to say what a good looking man Dan McCowen is, an amazing man, a generous soul who gives so much to the community. Thanks for being you Dan.
Oh yeah the race, today we met out at the windy cold York Cove race, the type of day where most would rather stay in bed, many brave souls instead decided to run 15kms and the winner was Dan McCowen. Dan produced a great display of running in all seriousness and broke through for his first club win. In second place was Caine McLennan, who speeds around park run as a warm up then flogs the rest of us mortals out there, he is probably out running again now. In third was Andrew Oliver- I think he goes for Carlton…….. but he is allowed in the club anyway. He battled with Caine closely and grabbed third with an impressive run in the tough conditions.
Our fastest runners were Matthew Zegveld and Deb Pauna, anyone else sick of these two making running look easy? no? just me being bitter I guess. Well done to you both , you honestly both did so well in those windy conditions.
Division 2 was quite a full field today and Millie Sertori ran faster than she ever has before to storm home to victory, she said she wanted to thank her father for being an inspiration, what a nice girl. In second place was Ryan Cullen, who missed his start and still had a wonderful run to get into second place. In third place Charlie Reese, the third year in a row he has hit the podium in this race, he must love the George Town air. Well done to all. Our fastest under 18 male was Harry Jackson and our fastest under 18 female was Rosie Jackson, well done to the Jackson siblings, a very talented family.
In division 1 it was a very strong run and win by Chelsea Sertori, who found some form and ran home to victory, amazing how chocolate motivates. She also said she wanted to thank her father for being an inspiration, what a nice girl. In second place Chloe Padgett with a flying sprint into second and they were followed by a photo finish for third with Rhys Walker taking out the place, a great run by all the kids. Our fastest male was a rare tie with the exact same time was Rhys Walker and Flynn Murray- do they share the chocolates or get one each, guess we will find out. Our fastest female was Emily Padgett, with a blistering pace.

Next week we are off to Perth, so get your plane tickets ready……oh Perth Tasmania, I guess that is good too.
Entry can be done as always here.
Later this week, we will update the run counts onto the website and ask you to check over your own for any issues etc, with the milestone awards they are still coming, we are going to do them all at the final race/awards and make it a bit more special, so if you are hanging out for those , never fear.
