Daniel Sexton shook off some stiff opposition today to take out the INTAS Financial Group Scottsdale to Bridport Half Marathon. Daniel previously won this event in 2011 in almost the exact time…. just three seconds slower today in 1:28:14.
Second place was Amy Lamprecht less than a minute behind in a slick 1:26:23, while third was Johnno Claridge in a very respectable 1:16:40, the second fastest time. Certainly worth a mention for fourth was the ever consistent Austin O’Byrne in 1:20:19.
Fastest male was Dylan Hill in 1:14:44 while the fastest female was Kate Pedley who smashed her own race record of two years ago by two minutes in running 1:18:32. Congratulations to all finishers and in particular all those competitors who ran the half for the first time. The runners from the local community helped make the event one of our best ever! We look forward to having you return again next year.
Next weeks run is the Johnno’s Running Group 5km at the Trevallyn Dam. It is also the Samantha Hellyer and Alex Walley memorial division 2 & 3 Blue Ribbon races for the juniors. See you all there next week and happy running!
