Race 2 – 2026 LRC Season
Saturday 6 June 2026 – Tailrace Park

What a beautiful day to officially restart the 2026 Launceston Running Club season.
After a delayed start to the year, Race 2 – the Scott Jones Building 5k – was run at Tailrace Park on Saturday 6 June, with the sun shining and plenty of happy runners, families and volunteers out enjoying the morning.
A huge thank you to our race sponsor, Scott Jones Building. Scott and Kat Jones were both in attendance, and we can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support of the club over many years. It means a lot.

The course was a simple out-and-back from Tailrace Park, with three race options:
– 1.5k Junior
– 2.5k Short Course
– 5k Long Course

Thank You Volunteers
As always, a huge thank you to our volunteers. Without volunteers, our club simply does not run.
We now have a new volunteer roster, and we’d love members to put their names down for future races.

As an extra thank you, we’re very excited to announce our new Race Volunteer Sponsor.
The legends at Intersport Launceston have generously donated enough limited-edition Steigen running socks for us to give away two pairs each week to our volunteers (Big thanks to Tim Reese for organising).
One pair will be drawn from our Junior / Short Course volunteers, and one pair will be drawn from our Long Course volunteers.
These socks are a limited edition and not available in store, so it’s a pretty great reason to put your hand up and help out!
