It was another beautiful day along the river as Race 4 of the 2025 LRC Season took place at TailRace Park, proudly sponsored by Scott Jones Building. With cool, clear conditions and a field of enthusiastic runners, it was perfect weather to tackle the twists and turns of this popular 5km course.
We had a fantastic turnout and were thrilled to welcome several new faces to the club—including our long course winner, Emily Anderson, who stormed home in her very first LRC race! 🎉 What a debut!
From seasoned regulars to first-timers, the energy at the finish line was buzzing.

🏁 Long Course (5km) Highlights:
🥇 Emily Anderson claimed her first-ever LRC win in her first outing—congrats, Emily!
🥈 Rob Tatchel ran a great race to take second.
🥉 Ricky Markham rounded out the podium in third.

🏃 Short Course (2.5km) Wrap-Up:
The juniors almost stole the show in the short course, with some big performances, however John Fawcett and Tim Reece jumped in to keep it interesting and represent those over 17!
🥇 Ollie Reid took the win and was also first junior home—brilliant work!
🥈 John Fawcett was the first senior runner to cross the line, securing second overall.
🥉 Tommy Nguyen finished third, with Tim Reece not far behind in fourth.

⚡ Fastest Junior Female: Talia Bramach – 17:06
This course had great energy and smiles from start to finish—well done everyone!

👟 Junior Course (1.5km) Action:
A strong field of young runners hit the trail today with plenty of enthusiasm and determination.
🥇 Jock Barnewall took the win and was also the fastest male, clocking a time of 7:16
🥈 Rafa Barnewall stormed in second on the toes of his big brother.
🥉 Asha Pilkington powered through to finish third.
🎖️ Logan Webb came in fourth with a solid effort.
🎖️ Chloe Marsh secured the fastest female with a smashing time of 7:00!
Awesome running from our junior crew—it’s always inspiring to see these young stars giving it their all.

👀 Looking Ahead – Race 5
Next week we head to The 145 Financial 10km for Race 5, including a 2.5k short course and 1.5k junior course.
📍 Meet: Opposite the shop at the end of Jetty Road
🕙 Races:
•10:00am – Juniors 1.5km
•10:15am–10:30am – Short Course 2.5km
•11:15am – Main Race: 10km
