The weather didn’t stop many hardy LRC runners today! Fiona Webb raced into first in the TerryWhite Chemmart (Prospect Vale) 4.9k and it didn’t even rain in the long course! Mel Hill grabbed second and Barry Sproston third. The fastest male today was Matthew Zegveld in a time of 16:27 and the fastest female was Sarah Menzie in 20:13.
The junior and short course events were run on the track with coloured bands to help keep track of the laps – the coloured bands have added some fun and colour to this event 🙂
The short course event is a memorial event for Samantha Hellyer – who was a junior member of the club a number of years ago – Sam’s foster-mum Sally, attended the event. Jake Barnard was the first junior across the line in the 2.4k short course from Millie Sertori and Rosie Jackson. The first senior across the line was Joseph Rogers snr from Sharni Long and Elizabeth Staak. The fastest junior male today was Harry Jackson and the fastest female was Rosie Jackson.
The junior course event is a memorial event for Alex Walley – who was a junior member of the club a number of years ago – Alex’s parents Mike and Sue and his brother attended the event. Our brave juniors lined up in the rain today – both the other events dodged the rain. Lucy Webb won the 1.6k lap course from Jada Rowlings and Alex Bartlett. The fastest male was Flynn Rogers and the fastest female was Emily Padgett.
