Even a late change in the course did not affect Fleur Walker from taking out the Johnno’s Running Group Trevallyn Dam 5km Hcp (though held on the modified Tailrace course) As it was, Fleur finished second in the recent Tailrace event and finished one better this time round. Coming second was Don Keddie, while third was Rickie Markham. The fastest male and female runners were Dylan Evans and Katharine Whitmore respectively. a healthy field of 56 registered for the race … a good effort coming off a half marathon and late change in venue due to road closures at the dam.
In the prestigious Blue Ribbon junior events being the Samantha Hellyer and Alex Walley Memorial races, Div 3 winner was Luke McHugh followed by Alex Zegfeld 18 seconds adrift and Oliver Walker 1 second further back. Fastest runners were Alex Zegfeld 4.11km and Chloe White 4.47km. in Div 2 Corey Stanley triumphed for the win and fastest time 3.35km with Isabella Darsaklis and Ivy O’Byrne completing the top three places. Fastest female was Ella Boxhall 4.07km.
Mike and Sam Walley (Alex’s dad and brother) were on hand to present the prizes to all winners and place getters on the day and the LRC thank them for their generosity in time and prizes.
Next week we head to Bishopsbourne for the Meander through the Midlands 15.2 km loop, and don’t forget a small afternoon tea plate to go with the traditional hungi after the race!
