Race 20 sponsored by Councillor Anne-Marie Loader, unfolded amid the picturesque landscapes of Prospect Park, marking the finale of a thrilling racing season.

In the Long Course 5k, Hannah Morris blazed her way to victory, claiming the coveted first place. She was closely followed by Penny Heger, securing the second position, and Mel Hill who clinched third. The fastest male was Shane Bishop in a time of 16:35 and the fastest female was Cassandra Sheehan in a time of 20:55.

In the short 2.5k Course, Lauren Tibballs was across the line and the first senior, while Phoebe Jackson-Mills secured the second spot and the first junior across the line. Seth Hill raced into third spot. The fastest male was Charlie Reece in a time of 9:40 and the fastest female was Aurora DeBoer in a time of 10:41.

In the Junior 1.5k Course, Sienna Bramich took out the first position from her sister Zaria, who raced into second place, followed by Jacinta Rowlings in third. The fastest male was Marcus Finearty in a time of 6:01 and the fastest female was Olive Howard in a time of 6:53.

The racing excitement was followed by a fabulous end-of-season celebration for the juniors and short course participants. The day saw the aroma of pizza and the sizzle of a BBQ, fostering a festive atmosphere to finish the 2023 season 🙂
