The inaugural Windermere 15k was run today over a beautiful “undulating” course by the river! As we’ve lost a couple of our tougher long courses this year, it was great to see so many happy with this alternative – we might even need to keep it in the calendar for 2024 🙂
The 15k long course was won by fast finishing John Wilson. Fiona DeWitt had a great run to grab second place and Shane Barker, one of the back markers raced into 3rd. We couldn’t split the fastest male between two runners today – so they both recorded 58:51 – they were Shane Bishop and Nathan Gibb. The fastest female today was long course lover, Deb Pauna in a time of 1:08:45.
In the 2.5k short course, Sarah Rowlings was the first across line from Tommy Nguyen in second and who was also the first junior across the line. Charlie Reece rounded out the third place. The fastest junior male was Harry Jackson in a time of 9.57 and the fastest junior female was Jada Rowlings in a time of 12.12.
In the 1.5k junior course Mason Hill was the first across the line from Olive Howard in second and Noah Webb in third. The fastest male was Noah Webb in a time of 5:33 and the fastest female was Olive Howard in a time of 4:48.

A few important reminders:-
1) The last top orders of the 2023 season will go in on Monday night, so let us know if you’d like to order a top or two?
2) In two weeks we have our charity fancy dress run at the Hoo Hoo Hut in the Trevallyn Reserve – start getting your costume together. This is always fun and raises money for a great local charity!
3) We have a Launceston Running Club team in the Launceston Running Festive on 11th June – it would be great if you could join our team and if we win biggest club we’ll celebrate together 🙂
