Race 9 of the 2024 season, the Councillor Anne-Maree Loader 5k, took place amidst the frost at Prospect Park today, delivering another spectacular day of running under cool conditions. A big thank you goes out to all the participants, supporters, and volunteers who came together to make this race a memorable one!
Long Course Overview (4.79 km):
Maria Hillman took off fast in the 5k long course and never looked like slowing down on her way to victory. Anne Davies skated into second place, followed closely by Neil Hammersley in third and Scott Greaves in fourth. Otis Hillman was the fastest male, with a superb 17:00.8. Sarah Menzie was fastest female with a top time of 20:59.6.
Short Course Action (2.5 km):
In the short course, Morgan Howell laughed off the cold to win, holding off a fast-finishing Noah Webb in second, with Joseph Rogers-Snr just pipping Christine White for third and fourth respectively. Charlie Reese was back in form with an icy 9:18, with Violet Morrison the fastest junior female in 12:20.
Junior Course Highlights (1.25 km):
Felix Webb was determined to beat his sister and finished first with Lucy Webb in second, Darcy Stack was close behind in 3rd followed by Sebastian Abel in 4th. Henry Morrison was the fasted male in 6:01 with Chloe Marsh the fastest female with a time of 6:04.
