Matthew Zegveld started second last and decided to pass everyone else to take out a smashing victory in the Running Edge Sidmouth Gutbuster. It was a sensational run and he was able to edge out the impressive Pete Wierenga in second and Nathan Jackson in third, less than 40 seconds separating the three!!!

The fastest male was our race winner Matthew Zegveld (he said he was chasing Josh Harris’ strava crown)  in a time of 43:36 and pace of 3:46km per hour. The fastest female was the lady who eats hills for breakfast, the fantastic Debbie Pauna in a time of 52:54, 4:34km per hour. Well done to all runners on a difficult course on a surprisingly hot day.

In the short course juniors Benjamin Carter took out first place with a speedy finish up hill to edge out Joseph Rogers Jr and Ryan Cullen. In the senior short course it was Michelle Barnard taking out first ahead of Kate Lee-Archer and Peter Lee-Archer (Kate beating her father yet again). The fastest male was Daniel Dewit with a pace of 3:54km per hour, and the fastest female was Rosie Jackson with a pace of 4:14km per hour.

In the juniors the course was an extra 500m this week so well done to all kids getting the extra distance. It was exciting to see Blake Staak break through for his first win crossing the line to strong applause from all who have seen him trying week after week, well done Blake. Equally impressive was Flynn Rogers in second and Marcus Finnearty in third. The fastest male was Marcus Finnearty with a pace of 4:48km per hour and the fastest female was Emily Padgett with a pace of 4:28km per hour.
