Today was memorial race day at the St Leonards Track, sponsored by Travel Time Kingsmeadows..

In the Andrew Willis 5k, Meg Lade won in a close finish with just 7 seconds between her and second place Anne Davies and just another 5 seconds to Narelle Whelan in third spot.  The fastest male was Matthew Zegveld in a time of 16:47 and the fastest female was Katherine Mills in a time of 20:50.

Charmaine (our race sponsor and Andrew Willis’ partner) helped present the awards for division 1.

In the division two 2.4k race Chelsea Rogers won from Alex Zegveld and Averyl Quinn.  The fastest male was Luke McHugh and then fastest female was Averyl Quinn.

In the division three 1.2k race Sierra Smith won a pint finish from Annabelle Pyke and Jospeh Rogers Jnr.  The fastest male was Jospeh Rogers Jnr and then fastest female was Annabelle Pyke.

It was great to have Sally Bell (Samantha Hellyer’s foster mum) and Mike Walley (Alex Walley’s dad) was on hand to help with the junior presentations.

Next week we head out to Westbury to tackle a lovely 8k in the Wes Jones Memorial race which is sponsored by the Jones family…  Please note there may be a number of cars around as there is a darts event on in the hall..
