Wow what a day in Longford! The sun came out, the flowers were out and the fast runner came to challenge the records in the Scotts Smith Orthodontics 8k… and …. both the male and female records were broken! More details below 🙂
The first person across the line today was long term club member Neil Hammersley! Debra O’Regan grabbed 2nd and Anne Davies 3rd. Now on to the fastest male and female.. Sam Clifford was the fastest male today AND he broke Kim Gillard’s 2008 course record of 24:50, with a super fast 24:15! Olympian Milly Clark was the fastest female and she too broke the race record of 28:32, which was set by Natalea Smith in 2011. Milly’s time today was a super quick 26:48! Both received the current jackpot amount of $600 thanks to our fabulous race sponsor Scott Smith Orthodontics! Next year the race record prize money will be back to $200 and will jackpot if not won – start training now 🙂
In the 2.5k short course the first junior across the line was Haylee Spicer from Charlie Reece and Joseph Rogers Jnr. The first senior to cross the line today was Elizabeth Staak from Jono Hill and Sandra Carter. The fastest male was Tim Reece and the fastest female was Rosie Jackson.
The 1.5k junior course was won by Olivia Padgett from Millie Sertori and Freddy Barnewall. The fastest male was Archer Rogers and the fastest female was Olivia Padgett.

The Feature Race is a new course in 2020 – Around the Josef Chromy Vineyard in Relbia – so no travelling out of town this year and we will have some news about picnic food/wine etc. on the day 🙂
