Race 9 of the 2025 LRC season will go down as one of the more memorable ones โ not because of records broken or PBs smashed, but because we accidentally invented a new format:
๐ The Wayside Butchery โChoose Your Own Distanceโ between 3.5-5k! ๐
With a few hiccups setting up the long course, runners found themselves turning at different spots, running slightly (or not so slightly) different distances. But true to the LRC spirit, everyone took it in stride, laughed it off, and focused on what really matters: getting out for a run with a great bunch of people.
Because of the varying distances, this race wonโt count towards official handicaps, but we did still recognise the first few across the line on the day. Weโll also be putting together a fun, unofficial sealed handicap based on adjusted distances โ stay tuned!
