Tony Butler turned long distance marathon training into a speed session to take out the Scott Smith Orthodontics 8k Longford run. Long time runner and life member Robyn Beattie took out second ahead of Sue Kerr in third.
The fastest male today was Matt Zegveld in a time of 28:28. The fastest female was Cassandra Sheehan in a time of 33:58.
In the 2.4k short course Melanie Hill took the win ahead of Phoebe Jackson-Mills in second and first junior, Lisa Morrison rounded out the podium with third. The fastest junior male was Harry Jackson in a time of 9:19 and the fastest junior female was Aurora de Boer in a time of 10:38.
In the 1.4k junior course Violet Morrison took the win ahead of Thomas Rowlings and Mason Hill in third. The fastest male was Flynn Murray in 6:07 and the fastest female was Violet Morrison in 7:00.
Next week we have the Cranes Combined Perth 21.1km half marathon. Please remember that we will be starting the short and long course all at the same time next week with a 10.30 start for both distances. We would really love to have a few more volunteers for this event to offer a drink station so if you know of anyone or you want to help let us know.
