The bubbly and always cheerful Melissa Jessup take out the Cromarty 5000m St Leonards’ track run. We had Anne Davies take out second and Susan Kerr finishing off the podium in third. All three were within 20 seconds.
The fastest male today was Matt Zegveld in a time of 17:40. The fastest female was Cassandra Sheehan in a time of 20:26.
In the 3000m short course we had another tight battle with Sharni Long winning ahead of Ricky Markham in second and Tim Reese rounded out the podium with third. The first junior was Alexander Murray. The fastest junior male was Harry Jackson in a time of 10:30 and the fastest junior female was Aurora DeBoer in a time of 12:23.
In the 1 mile junior course Sebastian Abel took the win in another tight contest ahead of Jacinta Rowlings and Darcy Staak in third. The fastest male was Flynn Murray in 6:24 and the fastest female was Olive Howard in 7:24. It was great to see the kids supporting and encouraging each other, as we had a couple of kids do an extra lap support another finish.
Next week we have the 15.3 Bishopsbourne run sponsored by Nick Hay – Howell Property Group and The Badcock Family. The Badcock Family will be cook up a feast for us so if you can please bring a salad or sweet we can enjoy lunch and casual get together after the run.
