Race 3 of the 2026 Launceston Running Club season took us to Evandale today for the Rob Rick Dale Deer Farm 8k.
With wet and windy conditions throughout the morning, runners faced a challenging out-and-back course. While the heaviest rain thankfully held off until after the event, competitors still had to contend with regular showers and a strong head/side wind on the return leg to the finish line.
The predicted weather may have contributed to a smaller field than usual, but those who braved the conditions were rewarded with another enjoyable morning of racing and club camaraderie.
A huge thank you goes to our race sponsor, Rob Rick Dale Deer Farm, for their support of today’s event.
We’d also like to thank all of our volunteers who stood out in the weather to help make the event possible. Without volunteers, our club simply cannot operate, and we are incredibly grateful for the people who give up their time each week to support our runners.

Volunteer Roster and New Weekly Volunteer Draw
We are excited to announce a new volunteer recognition initiative thanks to the generous support of Intersport Launceston.
Intersport has provided a fantastic donation of limited-edition Steigen running socks that are not available in store. Each week we will randomly draw:
- One pair for a Junior/Short Course volunteer
- One pair for a Long Course volunteer
If you’ve ever considered helping out, now is a great time to get involved.
