I don’t think stormed has ever been used in a race report before..or maybe it has. Well this week there was a lot of rain around, Georgie suggested we check the Blackstone Heights course out, I said why the heck would we do that? She insisted it could be flooded. Well if she wants to waste her time doing that she is welcome to I thought. I decided to lean back into my chair and then I went back to sleep (turns out work frown upon that). Later that afternoon the wife confirmed the course was in fact underwater, so I sprung into action and took all the credit and found an alternative venue, Heritage Forest again sorry.
Today we ended up with quite nice conditions and it was Sam Wierenga taking out first place with a wonderful race win. She did comment she didn’t think she deserved it, she still took the prize money so the humility must have passed. In all seriousness though she ran a wonderful race today, well done. In second place was Telena Kerkham, I must confess I was not 100% sure who Telena was , turns out it she is who I thought she was, so that was good to confirm, well run Telena. In 3rd place was Karen Lovell, she gets a louder cheer for coming third than some do for first. Either popular or just not expected to do well, I presume popular 🙂
The fastest male today was Ricky Barnewall, most of the faster gents pulled out today, was just Ricky, Mark, myself and some others left. The fastest female today was Sarah Menzie who knows full well she is now first by one for the female club champion, can she hold off Deb Pauna next week? promises to be a great contest between the two speed demons.Â
In division two Lucy Jackson turned up in a nifty shoe, sock, short colour coordination combo and took our first place with quite a speedy run, in second was Jacob Heger and third was Sharni Long…..seriously Sharni win a bloody race already, maybe she has the handbrake on? The fastest male was Harry Jackson, who went the right way this week unlike race one and the fastest female was Jada Rowlings, getting speedier every week.
Our juniors had a very good run, though the timer who will remain nameless got in a panic and missed half the kids, lucky all the backups worked. In first place today was Kobe Heger with a very speedy run, Tessa Van Der Vlist took out second and in third was Chloe Padgett, well done to all the kids on a great run. Our fastest male was Alexander Murray who finally got his shield that had been hiding at the Rogers house for 3 years and the fastest female was Emily Padgett with a great run.

We conducted the sweep today, you know how in your head something runs smoothly and then like 2 minutes in you are sick of it, well that is the sweep, wind and paper don’t go together, special mention to Neil for trying to talk to me while i was drawing and announcing the sweep results.
Thank you to Salon Nolas for your support today and to all our wonderful volunteers. Special mention to Kate Lee-Archer for turning up to time when she was not running and struggling with a massive hangover/or still drunk was not quite sure (it is ok she wont read this).
