Race 8 of the 2024 season, the LRC 15k, took place amidst the sunshine at Georgetown today, delivering another spectacular day of running under ideal conditions. A big thank you goes out to all the participants, supporters, and volunteers who came together to make this race a memorable one!

Long Course Overview (10 km):
Sharon Gunton held off a strong field in the 15k long course, securing the win with an even stronger run. Patrick Maroney was chasing hard in speedy second place, followed closely by Brenton Josey in third and Mark Brown in fourth. Otis Hillman was the fastest male, with a brisk 57:58. Sarah Menzie was fastest female with a top time of 1:11:19.

Short Course Action (2.5 km):
On the short course, Bell Sitthicharoenrat blew away the competition (cos there was no wind) and held off a fast-finishing Ricky Markham in second, with Neil Hammersley holding off Peter Davies for third and fourth respectively. Isaac Rowlings was first Junior beating his dad by a narrow margin. The fastest junior today was Charlie Reese in a time of 9:45.

Junior Course Highlights (1.5 km):
Connor Ratcliffe held off a fast run from Chloe Marsh for first and second. Chloe Marsh was the fastest overall and fastest female with a time of 7:32 followed by Connor Ratcliffe as fastest male in 8:33.
