Race 8 of the 2025 season at York Cove was a wet one! With steady rain from start to finish, it was a true test of toughness—but the Launceston Running Club crew showed up, laced up, and powered through like champs 💪💦
The 15km course wasn’t just long—it was soggy, puddly, and a bit extra. But despite the conditions (and a few less volunteers than usual—thank you to those who stepped up!), the event ran smoothly, and the energy stayed high.
🏆 Annie Loader claimed a well-earned win in the long course, storming through the rain like a pro.
🥈 Chris Marsh followed with a strong second-place effort.
🥉 Charles Gunn took third overall and also claimed fastest male of the day.
🎖️ Peter Johnson rounded out the top four with another solid performance.

🏃 Short Course (2.5km)
The short course was no less of a challenge, but our runners handled it with determination—and soggy smiles!
🥇 Peyton Webb was first across the line and claimed the junior win 🏅
🥈 Fiona Webb was first adult and second overall.
🥉 Tommy Nguyen and Robyn Beattie followed in third and fourth.

👟 Junior Course (1.5km)
The little legs braved the wet with big heart, splashing through puddles like it was part of the fun.
🥇 Asha Pilkington claimed the win
🥈 Felix Webb was second and fastest male (8:22)
🥉 Chloe Marsh came third and was the fastest female (6:56)
🎖️ Emily Clarke rounded out the top four

👀 Looking Ahead – Back to Launnie for Race 9!
After splashing our way through George Town, it’s time to head back to drier (hopefully!) ground with Race 9 – The Wayside Butchery 5k 🏃♀️

It’s a fast and friendly course, perfect for shaking out the legs after the long, soggy 15k!
