Race 9 of the 2023 season – the Launceston Podiatry Clinic 5k was held in, yet again, beautiful conditions, at UTAS Newnham and has been run and won.

The 5k long course was won by Josh Slocombe in a blazing return to form, one to watch in the near future. Melinda Bramich came in second with Michelle Barnard racing home for third place. The fastest male was Matt Zegveld in a time of 17:09 and the fastest female was Sarah Menzie in a time of 20:38.

In the 2.5k short course, Lauren Tibballs was the first across the line with Jada Rowlings taking second and first Junior. Sarah Rowlings ran into third. The fastest junior male was Harry Jackson in a time of 8:40 and the fastest junior female was Jada Rowlings in a time of 10:07.

In the 1.5k junior course Harvey Tibballs was the first across the line with a substantial PB of about 1 and a half minutes from Sienna Bramich in second and Talia Bramich in third. The fastest male was Freddy Barnewall in a time of 6:34 and the fastest female was Chloe Marsh in a time of 6:41. Special mention to Marcus Finearty with mix up with campus security and a marshal so went the wrong way.

It was great to see so many people run PB on what looks like a great fast course.  Congratulations to all.
