Race 12 of the 2024 season, sponsored by Eye Spy, took place in the wintry conditions of Carr Villa. Despite the cold, the runners showed tremendous spirit and determination. A big thank you to all the participants, supporters, and volunteers who braved the weather to make this event successful!

Long Course Overview (6.2 km):
Callum Spicer emerged victorious in the 6.2k long course, leading the field with an outstanding performance. His mother, Angela Spicer, finished strong in second place, followed by Jack Huang in third. Callum’s sister, Hayley Spicer, secured fourth place (dad Phil was 5th!), making it a notable family achievement. Matt Zegveld clocked the fastest male time at 24:15, and Sarah Menzie was the fastest female, finishing in 30:05.

Short Course Action (2.5 km):
The short course saw impressive efforts from all participants. Morgan Howell was the first across the line, taking the junior winner’s title. Tim Reese was the first adult to finish, securing second place overall. Peter Davies rounded out the top three. Charlie Reese recorded the fastest male time at 12:07, and Violet Morrison was the fastest female, finishing in 16:39.

Junior Course Highlights (1.5 km):
Chloe Marsh continued her strong performances, winning the junior course and also setting the fastest female time at 7:17. Henry Morrison finished second and posted the fastest male time of 7:50, showcasing great potential and speed.

Next week, get ready for Race 13 – Nick Hay – Howell Property Group 15:3k at Bishopsbourne. Weather permitting, we will have a BBQ, so come prepared to enjoy some post-race treats. Make sure to mark your calendars and register by 7pm on Thursday, the 4th July, to secure your spot!
