On Saturday 16th June at the Trevallyn Reserve Hoo Hoo Hut, a number of of club members and friends did an amazing job of dressing up, having fun and raising a bunch of money for a fabulous local charity – St Giles!
A massive thank you to the race sponsor – Haymes Paint (and particularly Phil Gregory) for making this event possible and donating a bunch of cool spot prizes (the paint kits went first!).
The event raised almost $600 with all the sponsorship money and the all the entry fees going to St Giles – so thanks to everyone who came out for a laugh!
Thanks to Sam Weirenga’s baking skills everyone in the junior events received a cupcake when they crossed the finish line!
Across the three events a number of interesting characters turned up to run. If you’d been in the Trevallyn reserve on Saturday you could have seen (just to name a few): Donald Trump, a couple of bananas, a strawberry, some rather old looking school kids, a minion, a spooky ghost, various super girls, the queen of hearts, mighty mouse, a mountain goat, an engineer, PT Barnham, Ironman, superman, a giraffe, Harley Quinn, a pack of tigers, the cast of Hogwarts, a clown, a scientist, lots of onesies, a number of Flintstones and a bunch of people in tutus. etc….
We’d also like to thank the Launceston Examiner for the coverage of our special fund raising event! Put it in your calendar for next year and lets see if we can’t double how much we raise 🙂
This Saturday we’re off to Carr Villa for the Pasta Merchant 6.2k circuit course 🙂
Committee members – committee meeting after the race…
