Race 3 of the 2024 season, Van Dieman Brewing 9.75km, was enjoyed in warm sunny conditions with great hospitality. Who doesn’t enjoy the soup and saveloys in such a picturesque countryside after a hilly run and to be able to wash it down with a sponsor beer. Thanks to everyone who made it possible, volunteers, runners, supporters and hosts it is always amazing to see the support and engagement.
The long course 9.75km saw Susan Kerr tackle the hills like they were flats in a strong win. In second was Mark Cullan with Callum Spicer narrowly passing Leanne Evans for third and fourth respectively. In a treat the fastest male and female in the same family today with Shane Bishop in a time of 37:20 and Elysia Bishop in 49:12.
The 2.5km short course was again family affair with Charlie Reese sprinting to victory to hold off Tim Reese in second and Charlie Mills and third. Tim and Charlie had with some extra motivation to get back and meet Sharni on the line to complete the family.
