Hi there,
I hope your running is still going strong during our “off season”? Remember there are still loads of running events you can be envolved in 🙂 The following describes the project and lists the criteria for participants – please help the guys out if you can.. we don’t know enough about why we get the stitch! – Participants are only required for one half an hour testing session, which will take place at the UTAS Launceston Campus.
– Testing session can be booked for anytime on weekdays, there is a possibility for the weekend if necessary.
– Participants are required to complete a consent form, simple questionnaire on the running stitch, height and weight measurement, an abdominal ultrasound and core stability test.
– From the results we acquire, we will be able to test some theories about the causes and influences of the running stitch and well as establish whether the running stitch is affected by core stability, in particular, control and strength of the deepest abdominal muscle – Transversus abdominis.
– Participants are required to be 18 to 40 years of age, run at least twice per week for at least 20 mins, have no current severe injury, in particular, lower back pain or not currently pregnant or have been in the past two years.
They are in urgent need of participants, if you are willing to participate and fit the criteria above, please contact Jason Mole on 0400077975 or at jlmole@utas.edu.au . Warmly |
