Thank you to everyone who made it along to our AGM on Saturday 26th November at the Door of Hope facility.
It is always nice to see people take a passionate interest in the club and to voice several current and future concerns.
The outpouring of appreciation for the committee, club and former President was also great to see and hear.
Life memberships were awarded to Robyn Beattie and Ricky Markham who were unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony at the end of year dinner. Thanks for all the tireless efforts to the club over the years.
The elections were held and the committee for the 2023 Season is as follows:
- President: Caine McLennan
- Vice President: Sarah Fawcett
- Secretary: Casual Vacancy (Filled temporarily by Michelle Barnard until appointed)
- Treasurer: Michelle Barnard
- Handicapper: Colin Smith
- General Committee: Michelle Frost, Anne Davies, and Sarah Menzie.
We are still seeking a couple of committee members to fill key tasks and help guide the future of the club and will be calling for volunteers to fill race day and other tasks next season so stay tuned.
The AGM saw several committee members not seeking to stay on the committee and it’s important to thank them for all their time, energy, and commitment over many years. In no particular order they are:
- Andrew Sertori – A man of many words and even bigger actions, there hasn’t been a part of the club he hasn’t touched in his year as President and time with the LRC. Always giving 110% and generally helping to promote the club, the appreciation shown in the speeches at the AGM was evidenced by all.
Along with:
- Rod Howell,
- Georgina Sertori,
- Dan McCowen,
- Natalie Slocombe,
- Kate Lee-Archer,
- Tim Reece,
- Peter Johnson,
- John Claridge,
- and Joe Rogers.
And to all the volunteers that give tirelessly every week, we couldn’t do without you. A special mention to:
- Pete Lee-archer,
- Kurt Greir,
- Scott Greaves,
- The Slocombes,
- Karen Lovell,
- Jo Cowie and Craig Cowie.
I’m excited to explore the future of the club and respond to new opportunities and challenges as they arrive, seek new ways to engage our community as a long-standing organisation, and continue to promote healthy competition.
Please join me in welcoming your 2023 Committee and thank you to the outgoing committee and our members, you’re what makes this club great.
Thank you,
Caine McLennan
